500 $100 Gift Cards needed for Foster Children

Hope & A Future (http://azhope.com) is an Arizona nonprofit that supports foster children.

During the Covid-19 / Coronavirus crisis, there is an increased need to support Arizona foster families with food, clothing and educational resources for the foster children. Our goal is to support 500 foster children with a $100 gift card for food, clothing and supplies during the crisis.

Here's how we have already helped:

1. A young adult in the DCS Independent Living Program was working at a restaurant and lost his job. We mailed him a gift card for food.
2. Some great-grandparents of two young girls became kinship caregivers. They are on a fixed income, and were grateful to receive a gift card for necessities for the girls.
3. Foster parents living in a remote part of Arizona are caring for an underweight toddler and baby who require special weight-gaining formula. We were able to use gift cards to order diapers, baby wipes and formula from Amazon, and have the items shipped directly to the family.
4. A young mother has become a kinship caregiver for her teenage brother. With 3 kids of her own, money is tight. We mailed her a gift card, which she will use for food.

Donations by April 15th, qualify for the Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit. Donations will reduce, dollar-for-dollar, the amount of Arizona taxes you owe. A single taxpayer can give any amount up to $500 and married couples can give any amount up to $1,000 and receive the tax credit.

Your donation does not limit your ability to give under other Arizona tax credits, such as the private and public school tax credits. You can give and benefit under all three tax credits!
