In 2014 I attended my first Royal Family KIDS Camp as a cousin. I was forever changed. Seeing the love that each volunteer poured into the kids was so inspiring and impactful to me. Each child always had someone cheering them on, listening to their ideas or helping them to create something.
While the Birthday Party is a lot of fun and a wonderful celebration, the Talent Show is my favorite activity! It’s so great to see even the most guarded or withdrawn child get on stage and be applauded and cheered on by a room full of camp friends!
This camp was so impactful to me that I wanted more kids from foster care to experience it. Now, just a few short years later, Tom and I along with an incredible team of over 80 volunteers are embarking on our 4th year of providing a memorable week for 60-70 children who have experienced neglect, abuse and abandonment. Each year I am convinced more than the year before that RFK can make a life-changing difference in lives of children from foster care. And, as a natural by-product, the volunteers’ lives are forever changed as well.
Every member of our team, from photographer to therapist, is a volunteer. They are taking time from their family, their job and their comforts. RFK Camp cannot happen without them and without you. We are 100% donor supported and volunteer driven. Will you please consider how you can support RFK and make life-changing moments happen for children in foster care?
If you live in Arizona, your donation will be a 100% tax credit and will reduce, dollar-for-dollar, the amount of taxes you will owe on your Arizona state income tax return. If you don't owe any Arizona taxes, you get all of your money back when you file your taxes and receive your refund. A single taxpayer can give any amount up to $500 and married couples can give any amount up to $1,000 and receive the tax credit. Your donation does not limit your ability to give under other Arizona tax credits, such as the private and public school tax credits. You can give and benefit under all three tax credits!
